“You Come”
Written by Lata
Translated by Lennex Hsueh-Lin Yu
Look at the clouds of changing colours,
Look at the
Agony of the earth,
The organs that must be found.
Before it gets dark,
Please give me a name to
Remember the time of a blossoming flower.
We shared a body
To gently describe a poem.
A lifetime throughout the bay eating fish,
I grow accustomed to the embrace;
Neither towards North nor to South,
What is this mystic power
Between the moons?
I like to ask questions
And to embrace.
All day long I gather dew
And trim the neat forest.
There is a bridge,
And hence an enormous sky.
I can speak for you
But I cannot cry.
Because I know
As it gets dark, you will come.
I cannot cry, because
I know when you come
You bring your smile
Along with your tears.
