[曼殊沙華]

A sonnet【Amniotic Fluid】
　　　
Since you followed the flow of warm current,
You have stayed in my palace.
The water has risen moment after moment
to build a place which your life begins.
　　
Since that second,
our happiness and sadness have merged into a river.
You have read my mood for the ripple of the fluid.
The shrink of womb has expressed your fear.
　　
Suck and spit the water gently and slowly.
There is a lot of my love in depth.
Wait for the ebb quietly
to follow the water to the beautiful earth.
　　
Don’t be scared, my lamb.
I will be with you just like the water all the time.

你住進我的宮殿
羊水一刻又一刻地漲潮
建造一個你生命開始的地方
　　
自那一刻起
我們的喜悲匯合成一條生命之歌
從水的波紋
你感受我心情的起伏
子宮的緊縮
傳達你對世界的忐忑
　　
輕輕地, 慢慢地, 吸吐這生命之水
那深處蘊含著我許多的愛
安靜等待退潮之時
隨潮走向這美麗世間
　　
孩子啊! 別怕!
我將會像那羊水一樣永遠在你身旁

It is a beautiful poem, following the sonnet form (3 quatrains, 1 couplet). I liked the use of the ocean metaphor for amniotic fluid here, since, from a macro viewpoint, the ocean is source of all life on earth, and from a micro viewpoint, amniotic fluid is the source of all people’s life. Plus, it carefully emphasizes the symbiotic relationship between mother and child, the nurturing of the child during pregnancy and through its birth.

For the English version, I just have a few suggestions:

to build a place (in) which your life begins.
The shrink(ing) of (my) womb has expressed your fear.
There is a lot of my love in (the) depth(s).
I will be with you just like the water for (all) time.
